It was a wonderful day, the basic ingredients of the 4 hrs were:- boat trip to the reserve, lunch, and bus tour followed by walk. The boat trip was lovely and relaxed with lots of info from the guide on the local residencies of Knysna and who lived where, the lunch was fantastic and beautifully served in a restaurant under milkwood trees. The bus tour was nice to get us round the island and then the walk was pleasant and helped us get to the beautiful viewpoints that made the trip very special. However, this was a nature reserve and we had little or no information or demonstration of wildlife on Knysna, no info about birds and their habitat or on the specific ways Knysna is regenerating after the fire 7/8 years ago. If the walk could have been a little longer and showed a bit more of the reserve that could have been worthwhile. I'd rate the trip 7/10. Our guide was lovely but it just lacked the wow factor that a well-travelled nature guide offers. And hard to justify paying nearly PS100 for two of us. Not really worth it. - Judy
Beautiful landscape with stunning views and a relaxing skirt walk. The food buffet absolutely blew our minds and much more luxurious expected. I'd go back for the food alone. The first was knowledgeable and we heard many interesting anecdotes. What felt a bit strange was the complete lack of some more critical reflection on South Africa s "proud colonial history", when telling ask of the hero stories. Unfortunately, this is a common shortcoming of many garden route activities - Jonathan
Very nice experience! Try to believe! 10/10 - Francesca
